The Fluffbyte Entertainment System
The Fluffbyte Entertainment System are a Plural System of Babyfur artists who livestream, do art critique & analysis, make experimental film & music, voice act and much more. We are anarchists, disabled, neurodivergent, Black and Queer. Fluffbyte's community and content are intended for an adult audience.
Collectively we use most pronouns
but they/them is a safe bet
Who is fluffbyte?Fluffbyte is an artist on the internet.
We’re primarily a streamer, concerned with heightening awareness of indie and niche games on the internet. We’re very queer and disabled. We like to think we foster a community thats safe for marginalized folks, but moreover; weird people.
We have a passion for art analysis; which is what got us started with “content creation”. Near the start of the pandemic lockdown and a depressing realization that our disabilities made us an ill fit for conventional work to say the least. But we were finally able to push ourselves into art full time as a video essayist and streamer, then later a vtuber.
We like to make intersectional analysis of things we’re passionate about; which is often video games, animation, or even sometimes current events. We often have longform streams discussing interesting topics, maybe reading articles or papers, playing a few games, & occasionally drawing.
The original art we make spans poetry,(experimental) music, digital art,filmmaking/editing but we also do some transformative stuff with amvs and the bumpers for our streams which are highly inspired by toonami.
We have a background in film and theater, although we didn’t finish college. We have long had struggles with things like depression,BPD & adhd; the last of which has constrained our executive functioning quite a bit. As of this writing we are still un/undermedicated. Because of this we do like to tell our viewers, fans, community members, ect that getting work out on a regular schedule is a massive struggle, so please be patient when supporting us, collaborating with us, or generally interacting with us.
That being said; we do try to have some sort of consistency. At time of writing at least once weekly we stream, post a stream vod/letsplay & host a community event in our community [18+] discord server. Besides that we keep a sort of low profile as social media really derails us from our more high effort art. We have some projects we’re trying to chip at with our limited spoons including a dungeon synth EP,some youtube content and some rumblings of a visual novel?
But we do occasionally do erotic fiction and we’re always on the lookout for voice acting gigs. Our use of We is because we are a plural system, which is a form of multiplicity. Multiplicity in this case is the occurrence of more than one person or identity residing in a single mind. The most visible framework for this in modern culture is Dissociative Identity Disorder, however we don’t flatten our existence, or restrain it to only medicalization, hence the plural label. (if its hard to wrap your head around: think of it like how being transgender as an identity goes beyond medical intervention/support).Our plurality has led us to pursue art and existence on the internet as a way to express ourselves (as well as advocate for the plural community), so we use our fursonas as a way to express our individuality (oh did we not mention being furry?). That is to say we all share this space. “Fluffbyte” does not refer to any one byte, but instead to the collective, so even if you don’t know who you are addressing; Fluff or Fluffbyte is always correct, but we do have separate names if you care to find out.The Fluffbyte Entertainment System tries to foster a space of understanding and empathy. We try to foster a space thats safe for mental health talk, kink discussions and even politics among other things. We like to think we are pretty open minded. The style of our brand/vibe can be condensed into the phrase: cursed kidcore, cyberpunk, (adult) after school programming. Our presence & art is informed by babyfur culture, game and anime culture, anarchism, queer culture, trauma art and much more. We value freedom of expression, especially in art, even when its messy or challenging. One might even say especially when it is.Babyfurs are a subset of furries who are also ageplayers or ageplayers who are also furries? Ageplayers are adults who express themselves like babies, kids or, teenagers. Its a subculture with roots in kink & power exchange; which exists on a spectrum that includes platonic, sexual and romantic branches. Ageplay, age regression or even kidcore are all just some ways a person might choose to label a sense of never having quite grown up, of desiring to keep a sense of wonder and exploration in their life, or even rejecting the framework of adult given to us all by the industrialized world. Many use ageplay , age regression, ect for coping purposes, just for fun, or because it just feels right. We’ve been thru a lot doing this ,especially as a disabled queer artist in 2020s
and truth be told, although we are a full time artist, we don’t make enough to get by from our work alone. We can still do what we do because we have an abled partner and sometimes get the odd tip, but we are striving for more stability. If you like what we do, check out our work, most of it is free. Sharing is caring and even if you cant support otherwise, sharing something we did that you liked goes a long way: Believe it!Thats the long and short of who we are. Hope to see you around.
